The Evolution of Species


Bananas haven’t always been seedless, cucumbers used to have spikes, carots haven’t always been orange and watermelons used to be the size of a cherry.

This series of research photographs explores how human interventions drastically changed the appearance of fruits and vegetables through the last 10 000 years of selective breeding and investigates the historical, political and ecological events that shaped the species that we consume nowadays.
